A radiation shield is only as good as its joints. Straight-edged lead blocks leave hairline seams where the beam can leak, and builders are forced to fill them with lead wool or caulk to recover the lost protection. These interlocking lead shielding bricks solve the problem at the source: each brick is cast with a dovetail or herringbone edge so that it grips its neighbours and staggers the joints, breaking the straight path that radiation follows.
